Buyer (fixed term)

Purpose

The Buyer will be on a fixed term contract until February 2019 covering maternity. They will be responsible for the purchase of key materials and managing service contracts.

Salary: £18-22,000 dependant on experience

Status: Full Time, Fixed Term

Hours of Work: Monday-Friday 9-5 (flexi-time)

 

Main tasks will include:

Purchasing production materials and stores stock items

Auditing specifications, requirements, cost and quantities for items ordered

Ensuring materials are purchased at the most economic cost

Identifying and reviewing reputable and proven suppliers

Liaising with the Accounts Department to resolve issues relating to purchase invoices

Liaising with on-site Stores personnel regarding all aspects of supply including re-order points, lead times, delivery dates, etc.

The ideal candidate will need:

A CIPS qualification, or working towards it, a relevant degree or demonstrable equivalent experience

Relevant experience in a similar role

Knowledge of purchasing and administrative procedures

A professional telephone manner

Computer literacy with experience using Microsoft packages and in-house purchasing systems

The ability to multi-task in a fast-paced role
