Re-roll & Semis
From a rolling ingot of 620mm thickness,
a hot rolled coil with a thickness of approximately 3mm can
be offered as a "mill product" directly off our
hotline. The configuration of our process, with a cold quench
of the hot plate and cold finishing, results in special mechanical
properties. Our experience in lithographic products assures
exceptional surface quality. The re-roll or semi-finished
coil can then be used as feedstock for further downstream
processing at our customers' facilities. General end applications
include foil products, anodized architectural plates/sheets,
reflector or
heat shield material among others.
Suitable alloy grades are AA1145, AA1235, AA3003, AA3103,
AA8079. Ideal coil weights are 6 to 7kg per mm of width with
an ID of 507mm. If necessary, the coil is rolled to final
thickness on the cold mill, thereby offering further gauge
reductions to 0.6mm. Annealing operations and final width
trimming are optional before quality checks are completed.
